Chicago’s The Empty Pockets harness a joyful friction between blues, Americana, and roots music, driven by muscular grooves, three-part harmonies, and an airtight musical dialogue honed over more than 1,000 shows. Fiercely independent and road-tested, the band has earned two #1 Billboard Blues albums, and toured and performed as a backing band for Al Stewart, Kenny Loggins, and Simon Kirke. They make music the human way: four friends in a room, listening, reacting, and chasing the song together. That chemistry drives their latest album, Dear Billionaires, an ambitious new chapter recorded in part at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios.

Dear Billionaires was captured with all four of us playing together in Abbey Road Studio 2. Instead of polishing away the mistakes, movement or electricity, the tracks are exactly as we played them live - no overdubs.
Vintage instruments, live harmonies, and the natural sound of the room give these songs their warmth, scale and urgency.
It sounds like a band because it is one.

This is not a record about people we will never meet.
It's about us.
