NEW ALBUM: Dear Billionaires

Across ten spirited songs, Dear Billionaires asks a working-class question: who can you rely on to survive? It follows ordinary people searching for connection and freedom in a world they did not build and cannot control.

The Empty Pockets’ answer? Make an absurd joke, fall madly in love, start a revolution, eat some pie and gaze at the conifer trees.

New Album Out October 23

Provocatively named, Dear Billionaires captures The Empty Pockets in a room that has sparked musical rebellion for decades: Abbey Road Studio 2 in London. Recorded in only two days of full-band live takes (no instrumental overdubs), this album chases the feel, bleed and electricity of four musicians collaborating inside the legendary home of The Beatles. A vintage Hammond B-2 and sparkling harmonies on original Telefunken microphones give the record warmth and immediacy.

The Empty Pockets harness a joyful friction between blues, Americana, folk, and rock ‘n’ roll spiked with roots soul.
The Chicago quartet — Josh Solomon [guitar, vocals], Erika Brett [keyboards, vocals],
Nate Bellon [bass, vocals], and Adam Balasco [drums] — lean on an unspoken,
yet airtight musical dialogue honed by countless miles on the road,
performances alongside Kenny Loggins, Al Stewart, Simon Kirke, and more,
a procession of fan-favorite releases (two Billboard #1 albums!),
and a wealth of memories together.

We make music the human way,
exploring stories and sounds without borders, and inviting people into a community built on love, curiosity, and connection.

PRESS

“Quite possibly one of the most underrated bands in existence today...” — Goldmine Magazine

“incredibly well manifested written material... the band's compositions have, to most, always resonated as timeless and ageless, as they are just as sonically relevant today as they would have been in 1975.” — Goldmine Magazine

“The Empty Pockets come prepared to hook your ears. Their wily tunes ooze industrious spirit, imagination and heart with tight and gritty Americana rhythms.” — The Big Takeover

“Known for their infectious energy and original storytelling, the band is pioneering a new wave of roots rock..." — Grateful Web

PROUD PARTNERS OF
WILL'S PLACE

Providing meaningful employment to adults with disabilities

Will is our biggest fan (and also Josh's younger brother). But this world isn't always designed for people like Will who have a disability.

That's why The Empty Pockets partner with Will's Place; a Skokie, Illinois-based café offering a chef-driven, ingredient-focused sandwich menu while providing employment opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities.

Will's Place is a nonprofit dedicated to creating a positive, safe, and inclusive workspace for a portion of our population that too often gets overlooked in the job market.
